SENATORS MUST VOTE “NO” FOR TRUMP’S HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES SECRETARY NOMINEE, PRO-OBAMACARE GROUP URGES
Washington (GIDSS.com)- A leading pro-ACA group voiced its opposition to President Donald Trump’s nominee for Health and Human Services Secretary, Alex Azar, fearing that the ex-boss of drug maker Eli Lily will harm the country’s health care program.
The group, named Protect Our Care urges senators to vote “no” for Azar through its digital advertisement. The online banner states that Azar is ready to lead a war on health in the second year.
The Senate Finance Committee said the hearing for Azar is expected to be held on Tuesday.
Democrats strongly opposed Azar’s nomination, given his track record in the pharmaceutical industry. Azar was considered responsible for causing the soaring drug prices. Moreover, the former lawyer is also against the Affordable Care Act, saying that the program is “circling the drain.”
TEXAS REP OPTIMISTIC MOST DEMOCRATS OPPOSE DACA FIX THAT INCLUDES WALL FUNDING
Washington (GIDSS.com)- Most Democrats will stand up against any immigration bill that ends DACA to finance a border wall, said Democratic politician Joaquim Castro on late Sunday.
Speaking to MSNBC, he stated: “I will certainly vote against it, and I know most Democrats will vote against it.”
However, Castro tried to be realistic that he could only speak for the House of Representatives, while Senate has a different policy.
President Trump reiterated on Saturday that he is willing to work with Democrats to give a solution to kids protected by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) as long as the opposition party supports his plan to build a border wall.
In his presidential campaign promises, Trump frequently repeated that there would be no DACA without the effort to fund the wall, aimed at tightening an immigration system.

CHILDREN IN SOMALIA TO RECEIVED MEASLES VACCINATION IN UN-SPONSORED CAMPAIGN
Baidoa, Somalia (GIDSS.com)- Millions of children in Somalia aged six months to 10 years were vaccinated in a UN-backed immunization program that wrapped up on Sunday.
According to Dr. Ghulam Popal, WHO Representative to Somalia, WHO’s main priority is to show continuous support for the country’s the Ministry of Health and forge the partnership with local health authorities to contain the outbreak of measles as well as ensure that all Somali kids are vaccinated.
There were 23,022 measles cases reported in 2017 alone, more alarming than the figure in the previous year and 83 percent of the cases were found in children under 10.
